Accuracy over convenience
A total that mixes currencies is worse than no total. Where a shortcut would distort the number, we take the long way.
About us
Chanakya started as a spreadsheet for a family that wanted to know where its money went — not a budget lecture, just an honest record. It is built and owned by one developer, which is why it answers to its users rather than to advertisers.
What we hold to

◆
No ads, no data resale, no third-party trackers. Family access is opt-in and scoped per member.
◆
Every entry says which account, which card and which party. The ledger should still make sense a year later.
The story so far
A shared spreadsheet, one currency, and a lot of manual totals.
Accounts, cards, UPI handles, contacts and businesses behind every entry, bills split into their items, and a household one admin can keep for the whole family.
Settlements, transfers and refunds, what a card earned, and money that moved in another currency.
